Dr. Hetrick is no longer accepting applications for paid research assistant positions.

Dr. Hetrick is currently accepting applications to work with her research team for course credit or on a volunteer basis. To apply, please fill out an application below.

The next stage of the application process involves a 45-60 minute interview with behavioral questions. During the interview, applicants are given an overview of what it is like to work with the team and are encouraged to ask questions.

​

Research assistants are required to commit 10 hours a week and can sign up for research credit. Registering for credit is optional.

​

During the fall and spring semesters, up to one hour of the time commitment per week involves attending meetings. Meetings involve presentations about conducting research, applying to graduate school, and developing professionally, and research assignments involve data collection and analysis. All students are trained on how to complete their assigned research work.

Applicants do not necessarily have to be affiliated with UNM.  All are welcome to apply, and there are no application deadlines. Preference is given to students or alumni with a GPA of 3.4 or higher and to individuals whose future career plans involve attending graduate school.
